Drinks: Bar – some complimentary drinks by voucher, possibly opportunities to win more...
Music: The Railway Inn has a small system with speakers across the venue; it’s planned that a number of people will bring iPods. There is a microphone available for those wishing to take the opportunity for an open mic session. Please contact Matt if you have any requests or would like to show off your talents.
TRAVEL (rail): Aim for Peterborough Main then get the local line, bus or taxi to Whittlesey.
Whittlesey is one of those fortunate towns that still boasts a railway station. It's not exactly the prettiest station in England, more functional really, but at least it's still in use. It is served by both Anglia Railways Ltd and Central Trains Ltd. The more people who use the station the longer it will remain open.
All trains to/from Peterborough have good connections to/from London (King's Cross), the Midlands, North of England and in many cases Scotland. Connections to/from all parts of East Anglia are available via Ely, Cambridge, or Ipswich. Connections via Birmingham to/from Wales and the West Country. The car park is free. No Sunday services from Whittlesey.
Peterborough is situated on the East Coast Main Line and is served by four train operating companies providing links to many parts of England and Scotland. It is also a key interchange point for East - West services, allowing passengers from the North to connect with trains to East Anglia or from London to Stamford, Melton Mowbray, Spalding, Whittlesey and March.
National Express East Coast: National Express East Coast provides high-speed inter-city train services along the East Coast Main Line between London, Peterborough, Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland. This provides approximately a 20 minute frequency to and from London during the off-peak with an average journey time of 50 minutes.
