Glastonbury Festival - all you need?

12 Jun 09

We're now just over a week away from the first day of arrival of DCSS staff at the Glastonbury Festival! For all those who have been offered a position – please make sure you have:

  1. Logged into DCSS PAAM and checked the event info – once logged in to your DCSS PAAM account you'll see a button to the right of the event name titled "INFO & DOWNLOADS". If you click the "INFO & DOWNLOADS" button you will be taken to a page where you can view or download the Glastonbury Festival DCSS PDF.
  2. Checked the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ); specifically the Camping and Amenities section.

There is a list within the FAQ section which will help if you've never been to a festival before or if you just can’t remember all the things that you forgot last year!

For example...

  • Sturdy footwear. This means Wellington Boots, Walking Boots or Shoes. NOT flip-flops, sandals or stilettos. You may need to walk quite long distances over uneven ground, so please be prepared for this.
  • Food and drink for the first day. You are provided with meals but only when you are working, as you’ll be onsite for up to 24 hours before your first shift and may be waiting around for a lift at the main gate (where there is no catering tent!) don’t forget a little food and drink to keep you going.
  • Waterproof clothing. This is a Glastonbury essential. It will rain, probably quite a bit. You are responsible for bringing your own waterproofs, we cannot provide them on-site.
  • Warm clothes. This does not mean an extra t-shirt! Jumpers (or preferably fleeces) and coats will help to keep you toasty.
  • A tent. We know... this seems rather obvious doesn't it? You would be surprised...

Any other questions?

The fastest way to get an answer is often via the DCSS Forum which you can find here.

Have you managed to organise to share a lift? Many are also doing that via the DCSS Forum.

You can also contact us here although please note we receive a lot of emails throughout the summer months so there may be a delay in response.

You can keep up to date with DCSS by following us on Twitter, liking us on Facebook, subscribing to the DCSS RSS Feed and the DCSS Newsletter!
